Mars went over this ground in November 2016 followed by Venus in December 2016. The Moon adds emotion to ethereal Aquarius and makes us all want to reach for the stars and soar around the galaxy. As this is the first New Moon of 2017 it symbolized the sign of Aquarius energy dominating 2017- think “expect the unexpected”, electronic communication like the internet, group thinking instead of individual focus, genius, more intellectual and less emotional energy. I think this is a big change moon, for some they’ll embrace what transpires, for others, they may not want change. Patience and a positive attitude alway helps.

The ongoing opposition between Jupiter and Uranus emphasizes freedom in relationships: I want to be free to be me! Jupiter in relationship sign, Libra also sextile Saturn in Sagittarius; opportunities to express truth and put some ink on it! Saturn trines Uranus supporting the ‘set me free vibe’; opportunities to break free, this may happen in a totally unexpected way. Opportunities just pop up to help you! They can be taken away just as fast…

There is a triple conjunction of Chiron, Mars and Venus all in dreamy, no boundaries, spiritual, Pisces. Putting energy into using the Feminine force to heal our connection with source, the universe, god. Venus squares Saturn in Sagittarius; let’s make this official? Let’s get real about love! Love could be come something serious or there could be a serious breakup. It all boils down to ‘what is the truth’ in your relationship.

Mars enters its home sign of Aries the next day and initiates action! Venus snuggles up a few days later on February 5 and stays in orb of Mars. Aries is the first sign and the initiator, this is a good sign for a ‘new’ relationship. But, don’t forget we have a Venus retrograde in Aries, the new relationship may have some obstacles and re-thinking to do. This could all be a positive new direction in an old relationship or a genuinely new relationship. Combined with the other influences of seeking truth and unexpected opportunities and change, I say this supports new relationships seeking the best!

Mercury conjuncts Pluto in Capricorn, more leaking information from our power structures, whether they’re banks, government or people that have power over us. Things that have been hidden from us will come to light (once again!).

This New Moon coincides with the Chinese New Year; this year it is the year of the Fire Rooster! Many folks will be happy to ‘crow’ about what they want and strut their stuff! In tandem with the Leo eclipses we could see some real rising stars not afraid to speak out!

This reminds me of the adage, ‘be the change you want to see in the world’. The Bald Eagle is the adopted National Bird of the USA. I suggest that the USA may propose some very new, revolutionary ideas to the world at large! Not so difficult to imagine with our new President now in office.

Individually, this is like a Phoenix rising from the ashes type of energy. You can transform who you are and fly higher and higher…
