Welcome everyone to my new website: Elpis Astrology! This is my first posting for Astral Musings. I plan to post every two weeks or more often if there is something significant happening in the Universe! Please enjoy and comment if you like. I will also have videos in the future. To learn more about me go to the: About Me tab. I use the American Ephemeris for the 21st Century 2001 to 2050, revised1 for most of the planet degree placements. I will end each report with a Sabian Symbol2 to tie all the ideas together in a central theme.
Mercury is at 8Cancer37, Venus is at 19Cancer52, North Node and Jupiter hover close together at 15Virgo58 and 17Virgo29 respectively. Mars moving direct now is still in Scorpio, 23Scorpio10, Saturn (retrograde) 11Sagittarius09, Pluto 16Capricorn18 (retrograde), South Node and Neptune (retrograde) cozy up at 15Pisces58 and 11Pisces56 respectively, Uranus 24Aries14.
Mercury conjuncts this New Moon in Cancer suggesting a message is being delivered to the collective about the home, mother, nurturing or Gaia herself. Mars trines Venus; relationships have an easy flow to them. With Mars, in Scorpio, moving direct, relationships that may have been stalled may have the chance to move forward…passionately! Mars also trines Chiron (retrograde); action or energy toward healing methods may now be initiated especially as it relates to spiritual healing.
This may also add ‘sexual healing’…ah, good old Marvin Gaye who sang this many years ago. What a potentially lovely way to start the summer! Mars quincunxes Uranus so, these new proposed methods may be challenged at this time or require tweaking to fit into existing methods – Uranus wants to change it up. A retrograde Neptune opposes Jupiter and squares a retrograde Saturn stating: We need to expand our spirituality and drop the idea that it has to be in a form we can ‘see’ with our eyes, and point to like a concrete form. We need to use our 3rd eye and engage with source. A cloak of invisibility appears to shroud what we may only be experiencing as a whisper or hope.
It represents the belief that it exists even if we cannot see, or put form on it. All will be revealed. Faith. Saturn squares both North and South Nodes; the collective continues to wrestle with letting go of the past and accepting the future. It is all here now! Jupiter and the North Node continues to trine Pluto. Plans are afoot to provide a clear path to our spiritual destiny. Our job is to believe that it will happen and to continue to let go all the things not serving our higher selves. Remember our higher selves is what is in communication with source.
The things surrounding us that no longer serve us block this two-way communication. Cleaning and clearing what doesn’t resonate with who you are now. Ask yourself: What are these things? Maybe clearing a dresser drawer is a good start, maybe cleaning your car, inside and out, starts the ball rolling. Maybe…changing your diet, the people in your life no longer serving you. You want to keep the transmission clean and clear…that is why it is said this year we must let go and clean up all that no longer serves us. A tall order . . . baby steps are okay to start. The ~13 degree Cancer of this New Moon is the central ‘degree’ point from which the 2014/2015 Grand Cardinal Square operated. This suggests a need to harness what we learned at that time and reflect on how to incorporate it into our lives.
It’s interesting to note that transiting Sun, Moon and Mercury conjunct the USA natal Sun and transiting Venus conjunct the USA natal Mercury all in the sign of Cancer. Going back to the message from Mercury I started with…there may be an announcement of a USA initiative to beautify Gaia; oh my! How lovely! Perhaps the fireworks will just remind us of the many beautiful things in our lives that are given to us.
Another significant happening on July 4th 2016 is the arrival of NASA’s Juno spacecraft at the planet Jupiter3. It will start a 20 month observation and picture taking at this time. Here’s a link: www.sciencenews.org/article/juno-closing-jupiter
Maybe I will try writing in more depth at what is discovered and how that ties into our astrological understanding of Jupiter; stay tuned.
Whether you are enjoying the 4th of July fireworks live or televised; make a wish for a better world and better you! Magic can happen.
Sabian Symbol
The Sabian Symbol for 13 degrees Cancer: “A hand with a prominent thumb is held out for study2” (p. 118). Generally speaking this refers to the will (prominent thumb) and that a strong will is required to deal with the issues this New Moon brings. I take this to mean we need to individually be strong in ourselves, confidently asking for what we need (or don’t need) in our lives. Collectively, this could potentially bode well for the greater good…authenticity and truth.
