Partial Aquarius Eclipse, New Moon 26 Aquarius 07 & The Astrology forecast for February 2018

February 2018 astro-landscape is dominated by the sign the south Nodes of the Moon are in, Aquarius (ruled by Uranus) exuding an exciting, electric, unusual and unexpected feeling but, with little real ’emotional’ energy. We have the Sun, Mercury, Venus (at the beginning of Feb) and, South Nodes of the Moon (read as: our past) all in Aquarius. What does that mean? The Sun represents our inner essence and men, Mercury, communication and the way we think and Venus, our values, love and money. The South Nodes, representing our past and what we may default to…suggests we need to re-think the way we do our Sun and Venus; our inner selves, men and love, values and money.

 On Valentine’s Day Venus, planet of love will be in dreamy Pisces and Jupiter will sextile Pluto, casting a real feeling of hope and of turning the corner. It can indicate new relationships of importance at this time but, as a 2018 influence it gives us the opportunity to evolve our higher selves (communicating with the Universe, Source, god). Eckart Tolle has published some wonderful books to aid this process; I encourage you to explore them.2 Mars newly in Sagittarius says let’s enjoy ourselves.

Aquarius Eclipse on the 15th February, the day after Valentine’s Day is of significance, it is also the only Moon of February; there’s no Full Moon in February 2018. Hence this post will be both the February 2018 and the New Moon forecast.

This eclipse degree of 26 Aquarius 07 is in almost direct opposition to the 21 Aug 2017 Total eclipse in Leo and signals us to let go of what has been interfering with the true expression of our inner selves and asks us to please start something new that does express ‘who we are’. Time is up

The Year of the Dog is celebrated for the 2018 Chinese New Year, the birthday years that celebrate the Dog in Chinese astrology are: 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018.

Influence lasts: starting from Feb. 16, 2018 (Chinese New Year) and lasting to Feb. 4, 2019.

The general meaning of the Year of the Dog is:  like a real dog, loyalty, faithfulness and truth are attributes this year holds for the collective. As this is an earth element more stability is favored. An NCGR colleague, Donna Stellhorn has written a comprehensive book on this, see reference below should you wish to learn more.3

The second half of February 2018 has many squares forming with dreamy, spiritual, illusionary, Neptune. On 17 February Mars squares Neptune, suggesting deceitful actions and feelings of doubt, other (well meaning) people may forcefully say you ‘are on the wrong path, doing the wrong things’. You can always listen to what others say, but, this is the final year to take steps to express your authentic self and speak your truth. Stay strong!

The 22nd February has Venus squaring Neptune, so the lower octave of love (Venus) is challenging the higher octave of love (Neptune); this confers some possible unrealistic romantic expectations; putting someone on a pedestal for instance. Later, what they really are will come out…now, you just cannot see it. At worst, this could be a breakdown in a romantic relationship, where illusions are shattered.

The positive side of this is the relationship was probably not good for you long term anyway and did not represent you as you express your authentic self this year. On the 25/26 February Mercury squares Neptune – confusion reigns especially with communications but, also with our thoughts – we may just feel ‘confused’ and unsure. We could get caught up in daydreaming. But, this could be useful if applied to undertaking spiritual studies or a spiritual retreat activity that enlightens you. It could also be that you are spending too much time watching ‘things on TV’ that may or may not be real.

“A tree felled and sawed to ensure a supply of wood for the winter”1 p266

This suggests utilizing natural resources (wood) for real basic needs (keeping warm in the winter). At a deeper level it is asking us to seek what we really need for our real comfort. This complements the ‘new’ part of the New Moon in Aquarius, that says find new ways of expressing your authentic self, but, respecting other individuals. Take only what you need to meet your real needs, nothing more.
